Getting started

How does my online booking page work?

Customers sign in on your booking page, add their pets and send booking requests, which your team approves or declines in Online Requests. Set the page up and publish it under Settings › Booking & policies › Online booking.

Set up and publish the page

  1. Go to Settings › Booking & policies › Online booking.
  2. Under Your booking page, check the Link: the address customers book at.
  3. Under Branding, add your Logo and Brand colour. Only owners and admins can change these.
  4. Turn on Online for each service customers can book, then choose the room types, add-ons, groomers and rules that apply. Each price, grooming service and upgrade also has its own switch for online booking.
  5. Fix anything the page says must be fixed before customers can book, such as a service with no price customers can book.
  6. Turn on Customers can book online and click Save changes. Then click Copy link to put it on your website and in emails.

What customers do

  • They sign in or create an account with their email or phone number, using a password or a code.
  • They add their pets, send photos or PDFs of vaccine records, and fill in the forms you ask for.
  • They choose a service, pets, dates or times, a room or rate and any add-ons, then send it as a request.
  • Under Reservations, they see their upcoming and past bookings.

When someone enters an email or phone number that’s already on a customer’s profile, AllPaws asks Is this you? When they click Yes, this is me, it sends a code to that email or phone. Once they enter the code and set a password, their account is linked to the profile, pets included.

Approve booking requests

Every online booking arrives as a request, and nothing is booked until your team approves it.

  1. When requests are waiting, open the bell and choose Online Requests. You can also go to Reports › Online Requests any time.
  2. Under Waiting, click Review, or Review booking for a customer you already know.
  3. For a new customer, check whether they’re someone you already have. If AllPaws finds a likely match, choose it to merge them, or choose No, save as a new customer. Then check their pets.
  4. Click Approve or Decline on the booking. To take a deposit first, click Take deposit; the request stays pending until you approve it.

Customers get the Request received, Request approved and Request declined emails, unless you turn them off in Customer emails. The Completed tab shows what was done in the last 30 days, and by whom.

Tips

  • A new customer’s booking can’t be approved until you’ve reviewed their sign-up. You can still decline it.
  • Customers can send a request even when a pet’s vaccines are missing or out of date. The request shows Vaccines needed with the pet’s name, the customer is asked to Submit vaccinations, and the pet can’t be checked in until its vaccines are up to date or waived where you allow it.
  • To review requests, staff need the Customer management, Email, Phone and Read tags permissions.
  • To make new customers wait until you’ve approved their account, turn off New customers can book before you approve them under Booking rules.
  • Changing the Link breaks links you’ve already shared.
